Fish Pie

December 27, 2017

Winter is here, and when it comes to comfort food, fish pie is at the top of our list. We prefer serving this British classic in individual ramekins, but it can also be made in a larger baking dish. It may not look like the most appetizing of dinners, but trust us, it’s delicious!

Serves 2-4

1 pound Alaskan true cod, chopped into 1-inch cubes
1/2-1 cup frozen peas
4 tablespoons sour cream
Juice of one lemon
Salt and pepper
Mashed potatoes (prepared however you choose)
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Preheat oven to 425°F. Prepare mashed potatoes. Divide cod and frozen peas equally into four ramekins.

Add a couple squeezes of lemon juice and a sprinkle of salt and pepper to each ramekin, and top each with a tablespoon of sour cream. Smooth the sour cream so it covers the cod and peas.

Fill the remaining space in each ramekin with mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese if using.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, until potatoes begin to brown a little.
