Forget the boxed fish sticks full of questionable ingredients and make your own! These halibut fingers are so simple, kids can make them too. Just watch our video together, and they’ll be ready to help out! These can easily be made gluten-free by using almond flour instead of panko breadcrumbs, which will result in a crispier, nuttier texture. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce (tartar, ketchup/mayonnaise combo, honey mustard) and a side of veggies!
1 pound halibut
1 cup half and half
Sea salt and pepper to taste
1 cup panko breadcrumbs or almond flour
Preheat oven to 450°F. Cut halibut into strips.
In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, half and half, and salt and pepper together until smooth. Add panko or almond flour to a medium bowl. Dip strips in egg wash, then in panko or almond flour, and place on a baking sheet.
Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven, flip each piece, and bake for another 5 minutes.
